About this calculator

A weekly time card bridges the clock times someone actually worked and the pay they receive. This calculator takes a start time, end time and break for each day, adds up the hours, splits them into regular and overtime, and applies your hourly rate to produce a weekly total. Enter the week once and the pay works itself out.

Formula explained

Each day, net hours = (end − start) − unpaid break. Daily hours are summed for the week. Hours up to the threshold pay at the base rate; hours beyond it pay at the overtime multiplier (commonly 1.5). Weekly Pay = Regular × Rate + Overtime × Rate × 1.5. Local rules and contracts may set a different threshold or multiplier.

Worked example

Working 9:00-18:00 with a 1-hour break Mon-Fri nets 8 hours a day, or 40 hours. At a 40-hour threshold, all 40 are regular: 40 × 25 = 1,000. Add a 6-hour sixth day and pay becomes 40 × 25 + 6 × 25 × 1.5 = 1,225.

Tips & notes

  • Record real clock times rather than rounded estimates, and round consistently across the week.
  • Write decimal hours correctly: 7.5 is seven and a half hours, not 7.30.
  • Confirm the overtime threshold and multiplier that actually apply before trusting the pay figure.
  • Enter evening times on the 24-hour clock (6 PM is 18) to avoid a negative span.
